First Snow of the 2009-2010 Utah Ski Season
The first snow storm of the year is on it's way and it's just the beginning of October. A few more like this and resorts will be opening by Halloween.
AN UNSEASONABLY COLD PACIFIC STORM WILL BRING SIGNIFICANT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS TO THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS OF UTAH INCLUDING THE
WASATCH MOUNTAINS AND THE WESTERN UINTA MOUNTAINS ABOVE 8000 FEET.
ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL BEGIN LATE THIS EVENING AND WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL GENERALLY
BE BETWEEN 6 AND 12 INCHES...WITH UP TO 20 INCHES LOCALLY IN
NORTHWEST FLOW FAVORED AREAS.
